We aim to inform, enrich, or entertain underrepresented people such as people of color, disadvantaged college students, people with mental disabilities, and more. The books we plan to publish must fall under this category in some way. This gives the attention and care to the underrepresented people that deserve it.
To make books that provide information, encouragement, or entertainment through stories, advice, poetry, or resources to the community.
Collaboration: Our company works with authors with a common goal, to sell books. The company, the client, and the readers’ inputs matter.
Impact: We want to make an impact on the authors that work with us and the readers who will be consumers of our books.
Growth: We aim to bring growth to everyone involved in our business, including authors and readers.
I have been exploring the magic of writing since a child. Since then I have written short stories, poetry, spoken word, lyrics, and more. I've also been trying to discover my artistic value, meaning what can I do creatively to make money? I have tried many things, but my most impactful and enjoyable journey has been the self-publishing of my two poetry chapbooks. I ultimately chose to self-publish because I had trouble finding publishing spaces that represented my community of people of color. I didn't feel like I belonged in any of the publishing companies as a writer and felt discouraged for applying.
This is when I decided to created my own publishing company, to be able to represent my people along with others in underrepresented and disadvantaged backgrounds. We have a voice too and it needs to be heard amongst ourselves and the accompanying world around us. I want to play a part in spreading our voices and this is my way of doing so.
